Hi-o! A little more about me…

I’m Sarah Vermunt, the gal behind Careergasm. I’m a professional coach, career expert, former business professor, and author of Careergasm: Find Your Way To Feel-Good Work.

Before founding Careergasm, I taught at the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. I have a M.Sc in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management, a M.A. in Leadership Studies, a Bachelor of Journalism, and a certificate in Marketing Management. I studied Executive Management Coaching at the graduate level, and Life Coaching under Dr. Martha BeckHarvard-educated coaching expert of O Magazine and the Oprah Winfrey Show.

I speak at high profile national and international conferences and events. Some of my recent speaking engagements include IBM Global Entrepreneur Day, SociaLIGHT, Discover Your Personal Brand, the National Job Fair and Training Expo, WISE (Women in Science and Engineering), the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology, the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada, the Organizational Behaviour Teaching Society for Management Educators, and the Academy of Management.

So that’s the professional stuff. But you probably want to know a few juicy personal tidbits too, right? Right. Here are some fun little tidbits about me that have nothing at all to do with work.

When I go to buy a green smoothie I often come home with a whoopie pie. Or Cheetos. Occasionally both. Because you can always buy bigger pants.

I’m a huge fan of those “insert your face here” tourist signs. If there’s a hole in a piece of plywood, I’m putting my face in it.

I recently learned how to chop wood…and I felt like a totally badass lumberjack when I did.
